Dell $250

Did my child receive the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?

All deposits are expected to be made by the end of the day Friday, October 9. Check your child’s Trump Account early the following week to see if they received the contribution.

Do I need to apply for the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?

No. There is no separate application. You do not need to take any action right now.

What’s the difference between having a Trump Account, activating a Trump Account, and receiving the $250 Dell contribution?

Having a Trump Account means the U.S. Treasury created an account for an eligible child.

Activating a Trump Account means a parent or guardian accesses the account with either their SSN or ITIN through Trump Accounts app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or the official Trump Accounts Website so they can monitor it.

Receiving the Dell $250 means a child was awarded Michael and Susan Dell’s contribution. This was allocated by Treasury, but funded by the Dells. It is different from any other funding provided by Treasury, including the $1000 gift from birth.

How was ZIP code eligibility for the Dell $250 determined?

Under auto-enrollment, the family’s ZIP code must have a median family income (MFI) of $118,000 or less, based on the most recent U.S. Census Bureau data (2020–2024 ACS 5-Year Estimates).

Online searches often show “household income,” not “family income,” and these are different numbers. Because this program is built for families raising children, family income is the measure that best applies. It reflects what families actually earn, instead of a broader number that includes people who aren’t raising children.

To check the exact MFI for a ZIP code, visit the Census Reporter median family income table, type in the ZIP code, and select it from the list.

How were children selected for Michael & Susan Dell’s $250?

Michael and Susan Dell committed $6.25 billion to invest $250 in the Trump Accounts of 25 million children born between 2016 and 2024.

Michael & Susan Dell’s contribution was based on ZIP code data, not your family’s individual income.

Contributions began in the lowest-income ZIP codes and expanded until 25 million children were reached. The final threshold was ZIP codes with a median family income of $118,000 or less, based on U.S. Census Bureau data.

All eligible children living on military bases were also included.

Funds have also been reserved for children in foster care, with details still being determined and those contributions expected next year.

If my child has a Trump Account, does that mean they received the Dell $250?

No. Having a Trump Account and receiving Michael and Susan Dell’s $250 contribution are two separate things.
