What’s the difference between having a Trump Account, activating a Trump Account, and receiving the $250 Dell contribution?

Having a Trump Account means the U.S. Treasury created an account for an eligible child.

Activating a Trump Account means a parent or guardian accesses the account with either their SSN or ITIN through Trump Accounts app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or the official Trump Accounts Website so they can monitor it.

Receiving the Dell $250 means a child was awarded Michael and Susan Dell’s contribution. This was allocated by Treasury, but funded by the Dells. It is different from any other funding provided by Treasury, including the $1000 gift from birth.

Why can’t I check yet if my child received the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?

Following the move to nationwide auto-enrollment, contribution eligibility is still being finalized. Beginning mid-October, you’ll be able to check whether your child received the contribution.
