Frequently Asked Questions, Answered.
Common Questions
Does my child have a Trump Account?
If your child is eligible, their Trump Account account will be created automatically by the U.S. Treasury. You no longer need to create the account yourself.
Your next step is to activate that account by accessing it, which you can currently do via TrumpAccounts.gov or with the Trump Accounts app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
What do I need to do if my child has a Trump Account?
Access and activate your child’s account by downloading the official Trump Accounts app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or visit the official Trump Accounts Website.
Did my child receive the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?
The U.S. Treasury is still identifying all the children who will receive the contribution under auto-enrollment. Beginning October 13, you’ll be able to check whether your child received the contribution.
Do I need to apply for the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?
No. There is no separate application. You do not need to take any action right now.
When can I check if my child received the $250 Dell contribution to their Trump Account?
Beginning October 13, you’ll be able to check whether your child received the contribution.
Where can I get help with my child’s Trump Account or Dell contribution?
- For Trump Account access, activation or support → TrumpAccounts.gov or TrumpAccount.com
- For questions about the Dell contribution → InvestAmerica.org/Dell
What’s the difference between having a Trump Account, activating a Trump Account, and receiving the $250 Dell contribution?
Having a Trump Account means the U.S. Treasury created an account for an eligible child.
Activating a Trump Account means a parent or guardian accesses the account with either their SSN or ITIN through Trump Accounts app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or the official Trump Accounts Website so they can monitor it.
Receiving the Dell $250 means a child was awarded Michael and Susan Dell’s contribution. This was allocated by Treasury, but funded by the Dells. It is different from any other funding provided by Treasury, including the $1000 gift from birth.
Auto-Enrollment
Is my child eligible for a Trump Account?
Trump Account eligibility is determined by the U.S. Treasury. For current eligibility requirements and account information, visit TrumpAccounts.gov or TrumpAccount.com.
What does Trump Account auto-enrollment mean?
The U.S. Treasury has created Trump Accounts automatically for eligible children. Families no longer need to create accounts individually.
What if I already created a Trump Account or submitted Form 4547?
If you created a Trump Account or submitted Form 4547 before October 1, your child remains eligible under the rules that applied at that time. Auto-enrollment does not change that. For questions about a previously submitted Form 4547 or a specific account, visit TrumpAccounts.gov or TrumpAccount.com.
Do I still need to submit Form 4547 to create a Trump Account?
No. Families no longer need to submit Form 4547 to create an account for an eligible child. If you submitted Form 4547 before October 1, your child remains eligible under the rules that applied at that time.
What happens if I don’t activate my child’s Trump Account?
If your child is eligible, Treasury has created their Trump Account automatically. That’s an important benefit of auto-enrollment: an eligible child doesn’t miss out simply because their family didn’t know about the program or hadn’t opened an account.
We still encourage families to access and activate their child’s account. That allows you to see what is in the account, monitor the investment, and add to it over time.
How do I know if Treasury created a Trump Account for my child?
If your child is eligible for a Trump Account, U.S. Treasury has created the account automatically. The best way to determine whether an account was created for your child is to use the Trump Accounts app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or visit the official Trump Accounts Website. If you need help locating your child’s account, use the support resources available through TrumpAccounts.gov.
Why is the U.S. Treasury automatically creating Trump Accounts?
The goal of auto-enrollment is to make sure eligible children can benefit from a long-term investment account, whether or not their parents were aware of the program or had taken action to create an account. Families still need to access and activate the account, but U.S. Treasury now creates the account automatically, so account funds can begin compounding interest sooner.

Has Michael and Susan Dell’s $6.25 billion Trump Account commitment changed?
No. Michael and Susan Dell remain committed to providing $250 to the Trump Accounts of 25 million children. The move to auto-enrollment changed how Trump Accounts are created, but it did not change their commitment.
